Silkscreen serigraph of still life flowers in a vase by Lyn Howley from 1945 -1950 by Van Amstel Studios. The original dust paper is included, as it has pasted to it a bio of Lyn Howley. The medium is oil on silk. It’s such a beautiful piece, I tried to show its colors in the photos - some with flash, some without - as marked.
Artwork is in excellent condition, the back has some wear consistent with age.
The bio on the back reads:
Lyn Howley was honored with many awards and scholarships of Art Institute and completed her studies at the Chicago Art Institute as a fine arts and design major, at which time she was awarded honors and consequent scholarships. She was awarded The Joseph Snydaker and Daniel D. Vandergrift scholarship and a member of the Zeta Chapter Delta Phi, Delta Honorary art fraternity. Her delightful and diversified paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States. Art critics have recognized her great talent which included a coveted award in a national show sponsored by the Syracuse Museum of Modern Art for excellence design creations. Her technique gives her pictures a unique distinction for lasting beauty. Van Amstel Co., Studio Edition, Van Amstel Publishers, Culver City California.
